We will also take a brief look at the system.

Understanding of legal documents
Understanding complex legal texts in English is another fundamental skill addressed in a legal English course. Students practise reading and analysing legal texts, improving their ability to interpret and apply the law in an international context. You will learn to identify and analyse key sections of international contracts in English, using models and templates to guide you in drafting and reviewing them. You will also learn how to draft and structure contracts.
Module 4: False Friends in Legal English
You will avoid the most common mistakes caused by “false friends” in legal English, words that look similar to their Spanish equivalent but have different meanings in legal contexts.
Module 5: Plain Language in Contracts
You will discover what plain language is and how to apply it when drafting contracts to make them more understandable and effective, without losing legal precision.
